Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google's affiliate Pearl Computing Malaysia awarded a roughly 1.01 billion Malaysian ringgit ($240.2 million) data center contract to Malaysian infrastructure company Gamuda, media outlets reported Monday.
Gamuda said in a statement that it is also selling 389 acres of land in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, for about 455.2 million ringgit for the development of the data centers.
The company said the data center project includes a new water treatment plant with a total daily production capacity of 65 million liters, pipelines connecting the plant to the service reservoir of the data center development, and an off-river storage to ensure ample water yield during the low season and alleviate pollution.
Google didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
