Advance Metals (ASX:AVM) said results from the drilling and rock chip sampling programs for its maiden exploration program at the Myrtleford gold project in the Victorian Goldfields highlighted the potential of the project, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.

The company said final assay results for a drill hole at the Happy Valley prospect included an intercept of 6.1 meters at 3.5 grams per tonne grade of gold from 245 meters. A diamond drilling program at the Twist Creek area is continuing.

Advance Metals also reported assay results for 85 rock chip samples collected as part of a regional mapping and target generation program.

The firm is planning to conduct drilling and drill testing at various areas of the project.

Advance Metals' shares fell nearly 4% in recent trading on Monday.
