Rimfire Pacific Mining (ASX:RIM) said that an initial batch of assay results from core drilling program at its Currajong scandium prospect, located within the Fifield scandium district, in New South Wales, showed high-grade intercepts, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.
The assay results could underpin the estimate of a scandium mineral resource, the filing noted.
The results included significant intercepts of 12 meters at 367 parts per million (ppm) of scandium from 12 meters, as well as 16 meters at 361 ppm of scandium from 15 meters.
The firm drilled 200 air core holes over 3 kilometers, and it has received assays for the first three batches of samples, representing 520 samples, per the filing. The remaining assays are expected by mid-June.
