The broad market exchange-traded fund SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) was up 3% and the actively traded Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) was 3.9% higher in Monday's premarket activity following a US-China agreement to reduce tariffs for 90 days.
US stock futures were also higher, with S&P 500 Index futures up 3%, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures slipping 2.5%, and Nasdaq futures gaining 3.9% before the start of regular trading.
No economic reports are scheduled for Monday.

In premarket activity, bitcoin retreated 0.3% and the cryptocurrency fund ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF (BITO) was up 0.7%.

Consumer
The Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) was 0.1, while the Vanguard Consumer Staples Fund (VDC) was flat. The iShares US Consumer Staples ETF (IYK) was down 0.8%, and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) rose 4.8%. The VanEck Retail ETF (RTH) was inactive, while the SPDR S&P Retail ETF (XRT) advanced 5%.
Dole (DOLE) shares were down 4% pre-bell after the company reported lower Q1 adjusted earnings and revenue.

Health Care
The Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) advanced 0.8%. The Vanguard Health Care Index Fund (VHT) gained 0.2%, while the iShares US Healthcare ETF (IYH) slipped 0.6%. The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) was down 0.4%.
Eli Lilly (LLY) stock was down more than 3% premarket Monday, Pfizer (PFE) stock dropped 2%, AstraZeneca (AZN) was 3.5% down, while Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) shares declined more than 2% after US President Donald Trump said he plans to reduce prescription drug prices for Americans.
Industrial
Industrial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLI) advanced 3.1% while the Vanguard Industrials Index Fund (VIS) rose 3.6% and the iShares US Industrials ETF (IYJ) was 3.3% higher.
V2X (VVX) stock was up more than 2% before the opening bell after the company said its board approved an up to $100 million share buyback plan.
Technology
Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) rose 4.3%, and the iShares US Technology ETF (IYW) was 4.6% higher, while the iShares Expanded Tech Sector ETF (IGM) was up 5.4%. Among semiconductor ETFs, SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) increased 7.3%, while the iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) was 6.4% higher.
Monday.com (MNDY) shares were up more than 2% in recent Monday premarket activity after the company posted higher Q1 non-GAAP earnings and revenue.
Energy
The iShares US Energy ETF (IYE) was inactive, while the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) was up by 3.3%.
Seadrill (SDRL) stock was up more than 2% before Monday's opening bell after the company maintained its full-year operating revenue guidance range of $1.30 billion to $1.36 billion.
Financial
Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) advanced 2.6%. Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) rose 7%, while its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 7.6% lower.
Kaspi.kz (KSPI) shares were down more than 1% pre-bell Monday after the company reported lower-than-expected Q1 net income and cut its 2025 earnings growth outlook.
Commodities
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 4.1%, reaching $63.53 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Natural gas fell 2.2% to $3.71 per 1 million British Thermal Units. United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 4.3%, while the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 0.6% lower.
Gold futures for June were down 3.4% at $3,230.30 an ounce on the Comex, while silver futures lost 1.2% to reach $32.52 an ounce. SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) fell 3.1%, and the iShares Silver Trust (SLV) retreated 1.6%.
