Carbine Resources (ASX:CRB) said its application for the Muchea West silica sand project mining lease in Western Australia is now in the final approvals stage, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.
This application was recommended for grant by Western Australia's Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation, and Safety in February and the firm remains in regular communications with key stakeholders to progress the application to grant.
The last approval required before is approval of the Department of Planning, Lands, and Heritage with delegated authority from the Land Access Minister.
It also secured initial access agreements at the Down South silica sand project in Western Australia, which will pave the way for on-ground exploration.
It plans to engage with an experienced silica sand contract geologist to assist with the planning and execution of exploration activities on the available areas, which is expected to include further field reconnaissance and a maiden auger drilling campaign.
Its shares fell 17% in recent trading on Friday.
