Market Chatter: Jamf to Launch Android Device Management Services in July

Jamf (JAMF) will begin offering mobile device management services for devices running Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Android operating system in July, Bloomberg News reported Friday, citing an interview with Jamf Vice President of Portfolio Strategy Michael Covington.

The move is aimed at expanding the company's enterprise customer base by supporting organizations that use a mix of Apple (AAPL) and Android devices.

Although not originally intended as a diversification strategy, the shift comes at a time when Apple is facing challenges from escalating tariffs and slowing demand in China. These pressures have made it more important for Jamf to reduce reliance on a single platform, Bloomberg reported.

Covington said the company has consulted with Apple about the Android expansion and that Jamf will rely on a white-labeled partner for onboarding. However, the underlying security and management stack will be based on Jamf's own technology.

Jamf, Apple, and Alphabet did not immediately respond to requests for a comment from MT Newswires.
