** Shares in Uruguayan fintech dLocal DLO.O are up around 15% to $11.80 at 1430 GMT, paring gains after rising as much as 23.5%

** Including today's rise the stock has gained 5.24% YTD, but shares are down more than 80% from its 2021 high when it neared $68 per share

** Shares in dLocal have had a volatile year, climbing to $14 at the end of February before losing 30% in a single session after its profit disappointed markets last quarter

** The move comes after dLocal reported that it more that doubled its net profit in the first quarter, compared with the same period last year

** dLocal's earnings report also announces an extraordinary dividend totaling $150 million

** Share on track for a best day since August 2023, when it closed 31.9% higher
