Amazon (AMZN) and FedEx (FDX) have agreed to support residential deliveries for large packages, multiple media outlets reported Monday, citing company statements and internal documents.
FedEx will operate as one of Amazon's external delivery providers, alongside United Parcel Service (UPS) and the US Postal Service, these reports said.
The move comes shortly after UPS announced plans to reduce its Amazon-related volume and cut 20,000 jobs as part of a broader cost-reduction effort, according to these reports.
Amazon and FedEx did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
