Eurofighter Expects to Sign New Contracts With Turkey, Middle East Countries, CEO Says -- Market Talk

0942 GMT - Eurofighter is expecting an increase in orders and is accelerating its production to be able to meet current and future demand, Chief Executive Jorge Tamarit tells a defense industry event in Madrid on Tuesday. The European fighter jet consortium--which brings together Airbus, BAE Systems and Leonardo--expects imminent orders from Germany, and has seen interest from Turkey and Middle East governments, he says. As the U.S. pivots toward the Indo-Pacific, European countries must establish alliances with new countries, he adds, describing the Middle East as a source for multiple opportunities.
