Western Energy Services Makes Lane Permanent CEO

Western Energy Services has named interim Chief Executive Gavin Lane as its permanent president and CEO.

The Canadian drilling company said Friday the appointment is effective immediately.

Lane's appointment follows an external search following the retirement of CEO Alex MacAusland, the company said.

Lane was the company's finance chief before stepping in as interim CEO on Jan. 31.

Chantel Calancia will continue to serve as interim chief financial officer while Western starts a formal search to fill it on a permanent basis, the company said.
