BlockBeats News, May 19th, according to Coinmarketcap data, the cryptocurrency market showed divergent trends. While Bitcoin was challenging new highs, the Altcoin Season Index dropped from a recent high of 43 to 24.
The Altcoin Index, after reaching a yearly high of 87 on December 4, 2024, has been on a continuous decline, falling to a low of 13. During the May market rally, it rebounded to 43 before falling again.
Within the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization in the last 90 days, 24 tokens have outperformed Bitcoin. The top-performing altcoins in the last 90 days are FARTCOIN, FORM, IP, VIRTUAL, and BRETT.
