1040 GMT - U.S. bank mergers and acquisitions are expected to rise in the second half of 2025 as recession concerns fade and the regulatory environment improves, Morgan Stanley Research analysts say in a note. U.S. bank M&A activity has been running below the historical average of 200 deals to 300 deals per year since 2021, partly due to stricter regulations, the analysts say. "The regulatory tone has already shifted in favor of more bank M&A," they say. (miriam.mukuru@wsj.com)
