May 20 - (The Insurer) - Cyber insurtech Converge Insurance has appointed former JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank David Kimmel as chief financial officer.
Kimmel has more than 35 years of experience across insurance, investment banking and emerging technologies.
Most recently, Kimmel was a co-founder of Insurance Advisory Partners, advising firms in insurance, insurance services, and insurtech.
Kimmel previously led the financial services investment banking groups at JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank, advising on billions in M&A and financings.
He also served as CEO of cyber risk analytics and transfer firm CyberRiskPartners.
Kimmel will lead Converge’s financial strategy as it accelerates its expansion in the cyber insurance market.
“David brings a combination of financial acumen, operational leadership, and strategic vision,” said Tom Kang, CEO of Converge. “His track record spans decades of driving outcomes for insurance leaders across market cycles.”
Kang added: “As we scale our platform, David’s leadership will be instrumental in guiding our financial strategy to maximize value for our partners and insureds.”
Converge Insurance in March announced it had received a $5 million investment from QBE Ventures. At that time, Kang told Cyber Risk Insurer that the Insurtech will also likely look to close a Series B funding round this year.
New York-based insurtech Converge in August 2023 secured $15 million in Series A funding from Forgepoint Capital.
