Western Asset Emerging Markets Debt Fund Inc. $(EMD)$ announced its financial results for the quarter ending March 31, 2025. The Fund reported total net investment income of $11.84 million, a decrease from the previous quarter's $14.19 million but an increase from the $11.01 million reported in the same quarter last year. The total net assets stood at $612.19 million, slightly down from $616.62 million in the previous quarter and $622.17 million in the prior year. The Fund's NAV per share was $10.53, compared to $10.61 in the previous quarter and $10.65 in the same period last year. The market price per share rose to $9.89 from $9.62 in the previous quarter and $9.61 in the prior year, reflecting a narrowed discount of 6.08% compared to 9.33% in the previous quarter and 9.77% in the same quarter last year. Total net realized/unrealized loss for the quarter was $862,708, an improvement from the $13.99 million loss in the previous quarter but a decline from the $8.41 million gain in the same quarter last year. The net increase in net assets from operations was $10.98 million, up significantly from $196,484 in the previous quarter but down from $19.42 million in the same quarter last year.
