Granite Construction Inc. has secured a $54 million contract for the first phase of the Parks Highway realignment in Alaska. Under a Construction Manager/General Contractor (CMGC) agreement with the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, the project aims to enhance traffic safety by realigning the highway between milepost 319 and 322. Key activities include 2.5 million cubic yards of earthwork, 25,000 tons of asphalt paving, and a full traffic diversion. Construction commenced on May 1, 2025, and is expected to conclude by September 2027. The project exemplifies effective collaboration between Granite, the DOT&PF, and Michael Baker International, ensuring optimal design and efficient use of funds.
