Italian Ministries Ask for More Fines on LivaNova

Environmental ministries in Italy have asked for LivaNova to be hit with additional fines after the company paid millions for related claims.

The Italian Ministry of Ecological Transition, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the Prime Minister's Office jointly asked the Italian Supreme Court to add at least €108.8 million ($123.24) to LivaNova's fines.

In the quarter ended March 31, LivaNova recorded a liability of €333.3 million ($377.6 million) due to a decision made by the Italian Supreme Court over environmental issues. The company lowered its full-year outlook in May.

The ministries' latest filing is not a demand for payment, and LivaNova said it is not adjusting its guidance in response to the development.
