Genesis Minerals (ASX:GMD) will acquire the Laverton gold project from Western Australian gold producer Focus Minerals (ASX:FML) for AU$250 million in cash, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.

The company will acquire 100% of Focus Minerals, which holds the Laverton project.

The deal is expected to be completed early next month, the filing said.
