SAIC Motor (SHA:600104) unit IM Motors, Leapmotor (HKG:9863), and BYD (HKG:1211, SHE:002594) have started offering wide-ranging discounts on their electric vehicles.
IM Motors priced its LS6 electric sports utility vehicle at 194,900 yuan, according to a promotional poster.
Leapmotor priced its C16 200-kilometer extended-range electric vehicle variant at 111,800 yuan, as shown on a promotional poster released by the company in time for the Dragon Boat Festival.
The new LS6 is 19% cheaper than its original price of 239,900 yuan, while the C16 is 29% lower than its original price of 155,800 yuan, electric vehicle-focused news outlet CnEVPost reported Monday.
BYD on Friday slashed the prices of its cars by between 10% and 30% for customers buying before June 30, according to CnEVPost.
Among those included are BYD's affordable price models priced below 150,000 yuan and even the Xia multi-purpose vehicle, which is more than 200,000 yuan, the report said.
