Nokia signed an agreement with German defense software provider Blackned to create next-generation mobile communication systems for military battlefield operations.

Under the agreement, the companies will design systems tailored to Germany's defense needs and adaptable for use in other countries.

The systems will provide uninterrupted connectivity and high data rates for military teams, and be able to integrate into Rheinmetall's Battlesuite digital platform, which is designed to connect military operations more effectively.

Blackned is 51%-owned by Rheinmetall.

No financial details for the partnership were disclosed.
