Bowman Consulting Group Names Laurito Chairman

Bowman Consulting Group said its board elected independent director James Laurito to be its chairman.

He will succeed Gary Bowman, who has served as president, chief executive officer and chairman since founding the company in 1995. Bowman will continue as CEO, the engineering services company said Tuesday.

Laurito has served as an independent director since 2021. He was previously chief technology officer of Fortis from May 2018 until his retirement in 2021. He was president and CEO of Central Hudson Gas & Electric and CH Energy Group. He also held president and CEO roles at Central Hudson Gas & Electric, New York State Electric & Gas, and Rochester Gas & Electric, Bowman said.
