Williams (WMB) is readying paperwork to seek permits from US federal energy regulators for the revival of two natural gas pipeline development projects in New York, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing sources close to the matter.

The company is looking to revive the Constitution Pipeline project, a 124-mile line to transport gas from Appalachia's shale fields in to New York and New England. The company abandoned the project in 2020 after New York environmental regulators refused a crucial water-quality permit.

Williams is also looking to resume work at the Northeast Supply Enhancement project, an expansion of existing lines under the New York Harbor and into the city. The company left this embattled project in 2024, the news report said.

Williams didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
