CME Group (CME) said Tuesday that its average daily volume in May was 28.9 million contracts, an 11% increase from a year earlier.

The derivatives marketplace operator reported an ADV of 16.2 million interest rate contracts for the month, along with an ADV of 6.6 million equity index contracts, and energy ADV of 2.6 million contracts.

It also reported agricultural ADV of 1.6 million contracts, metals ADV of 933,000 contracts, foreign exchange ADV of 893,000 contracts, and cryptocurrency ADV of 197,000 contracts.
