June 5 - (The Insurer) - Technology firm Blink Parametric appointed Brian Barter as its new CEO, with Sid Mouncey moving to the role of chief commercial officer.
Barter was most recently managing director of software business BoatyardX from its inception in 2019 until 2024, leading it through its acquisition by IT services company Ergo in 2022. He previously held senior positions at Accenture and Bank of Ireland.
He succeeds Mouncey, who had been CEO since 2022 and becomes chief commercial officer. Mouncey said Barter's technology and strategic experience would help Blink become even more focused on its partners and profitability while enhancing its offering.
Blink is best known for travel disruption solutions including products that pay travellers automatically after their flight is delayed or cancelled, or provide access to airport lounges. In a recent study first reported by Parametric Insurer, Mapfre's Mawdy unit in Ireland found that 11% more customers opted for premium travel insurance products when a parametric cover from Blink was included.
