HSBC (HKG:0005) repurchased 2,481,921 shares on Wednesday, according to a Thursday Hong Kong bourse filing.
The lender repurchased 1,452,321 shares in the UK at a volume-weighted average price of 8.7378 pounds sterling apiece and 1,029,600 shares in Hong Kong for HK$92.7645 per share.
HSBC has so far repurchased 132,191,751 shares for nearly $1.54 billion since the current buyback program began May 6.
Following the cancellation of shares repurchased in the UK, the firm has 17,559,642,786 ordinary shares in issue.
