Malaysian Shares End in Green Mirroring Regional Gains; HE Group Rallies Over 8%

Malaysian shares extend gains to end in the green zone on Thursday, in line with the broader regional sentiment.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI, the main gauge of Malaysian stocks, gained 10.15 points, to end 0.67% higher at 1,518.12. The day range was between 1,509.25 and 1,520.34.

In economic news, Asia's sector growth weakened in May, as only 11 of 18 monitored sectors reported increased output, marking the lowest number in 18 months, according to the latest S&P Global Asia Sector PMI report.

In corporate news, shares of HE Group (KLSE:HEGROUP) jumped over 8% after it proposed to transfer the listing and quotation of its shares from the ACE Market to the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities.

Shares of SKP Resources (KLSE:SKPRES) gained marginally after it struck off and dissolved its unit, Tecnicware Products, from the Register of the Companies.

Shares of Affin Bank (KLSE:AFFIN) were also slightly up on close after it completed the first issue of $300 million of senior unsecured notes. The debt was issued under the lender's euro medium-term bond program of 2 billion.
