S&P 500 FLAT, WITH US-CHINA TRADE TALKS IN FOCUS, WWDC AHEAD
The S&P 500 .SPX is little changed in morning trading on Monday, after the benchmark index ended above 6,000 on Friday for the first time since February 21, with investors waiting to hear news on the trade front as top U.S. and Chinese officials meet in London over their trade dispute.
U.S. economic adviser Kevin Hassett said on Monday that the U.S. team wanted a handshake from China on rare earths after Presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping spoke last week.
Warner Bros Discovery WBD.O shares are up 11.3% after the company said it would separate its studios and streaming business from its fading cable television networks.
Investors also are watching for news from Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) that starts this afternoon. Shares of Apple AAPL.O are up 0.5% in early trading.
