June 10 - (The Insurer) - Everest’s head of excess casualty national accounts Jake Sokol has left the company, multiple broking and underwriting sources told The Insurer.
Sources said that Sokol left the company on his own accord and with plans to explore launching a new venture. Further details on Sokol’s departure or destination could not immediately be confirmed.
Everest announced last week that it hired Ashleigh Sears as its new head of alternative risk and head of national accounts excess casualty.
Sears left her previous role as head of casualty with USQRisk after about a year with the MGA and after it signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Ryan Specialty in a deal that closed early last month.
Sokol had been with Everest for nearly a decade and previously held underwriting roles at Swiss Re within its Corporate Solutions division, Starr Companies, Admiral, General Star and Gen Re.
A spokesperson for Everest did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
