If approved, the permit would allow the company to integrate oil sands extraction with waste asphalt shingle recycling, opening new commercial pathways and expanding revenue-generating operations. The application also includes a request to the School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration (SITLA) for a combined permit structure, aiming to consolidate various processes under a unified sustainable waste energy development plan. This regulatory approval would enable Sky Quarry to commercialize $1 million in asphaltic sand inventory, deploy its ECOSolv process for heavy oil extraction, and advance recycled product development through R&D. Sky Quarry projects a recovery of approximately 10 million barrels over 15 years, showcasing its blended recycling and extraction model on a commercial scale.
