Sky Quarry Inc. has announced that it has applied for a Waste Management Recycling Permit with Utah regulators, a move poised to revolutionize its operations at the PR Spring site. If approved, the permit would allow the company to integrate oil sands extraction with waste asphalt shingle recycling, opening new commercial pathways and expanding revenue-generating operations. The application also includes a request to the School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration (SITLA) for a combined permit structure, aiming to consolidate various processes under a unified sustainable waste energy development plan. This regulatory approval would enable Sky Quarry to commercialize $1 million in asphaltic sand inventory, deploy its ECOSolv process for heavy oil extraction, and advance recycled product development through R&D. Sky Quarry projects a recovery of approximately 10 million barrels over 15 years, showcasing its blended recycling and extraction model on a commercial scale.
