Business groups say they will aim for politically achievable outcomes at the August productivity summit by targeting such areas as deregulation, streamlined approvals and artificial intelligence, but will keep pushing for more substantial change such as tax reform over the longer term.
Business Council of Australia chief executive Bran Black told The Australian Financial Review the summit should not be a one-off event, but held every six months to maintain momentum on fixing Australia’s flatlining productivity.
