Apple Hospitality REIT, Inc. has announced the acquisition of the Homewood Suites by Hilton Tampa-Brandon in Florida for $18.8 million, equating to approximately $149,000 per room. This strategic purchase expands Apple Hospitality's portfolio, which now includes 221 hotels with nearly 30,000 rooms across 37 states and the District of Columbia. The acquisition, at a 12% cap rate based on recent performance, aligns with the company's goal to enhance shareholder returns through operational synergies and market positioning improvements following planned renovations. Additionally, Apple Hospitality has a Motto by Hilton under development in Nashville, set to open in late 2025, and is also selling the Houston Marriott Energy Corridor, expected to close in the third quarter of 2025.
