The number of new energy vehicles Anhui Jianghuai Automobile (SHA:600418) or JAC Motors sold in May dropped 58% year on year to 1,132 units from 2,683 units a year earlier, according to a Shanghai bourse on Tuesday.

Production fell 21% year on year to 1,662 NEVs from 2,115 NEVs in the previous year.

The total number of sold vehicles slipped 3.5% year on year to 33,351 units from 34,568 units, while output rose 6.8% year on year to 35,031 units from 32,817 units.

JAC Motors' shares rose over 2% in recent trade.
