BlockBeats News, June 9th, Tether's CEO announced that they will strive to open source their Bitcoin Mining Operating System (MOS). This will allow a large number of new Bitcoin mining companies to enter the market and participate in the competition to maintain network security. No longer will any third-party hosting software be needed. MOS will create a more level playing field, narrowing the gap between publicly listed companies and small to medium-sized miners.
This mining operating system has strong scalability, resilience, and modularity, with a core architecture based on peer-to-peer Internet of Things (IoT). It can scale from a Raspberry Pi that connects multiple miners to deploying large mining farms with redundant hosts monitoring hundreds of thousands of miners. MOS comes with built-in plugins for monitoring and interacting with devices including:
- Various mainstream mining machine models/manufacturers
- Various miner enclosures (air-cooled, liquid-cooled, etc.)
- A large number of electrical devices, temperature controllers, etc.
Any developer can develop custom plugins for specific devices and (hopefully) contribute them back to the main codebase.
"I envision integrating with @QVAC_tether in the future, leveraging the vast amount of data generated by Mining OS to build better reports and using customized AI tools to enhance mining efficiency and output performance.
Furthermore, many small to medium-sized enterprises that use self-generated power sources such as solar energy will also start using excess power to participate in mining, and MOS will greatly simplify their operational processes."
