Hong Kong bourse Chief Executive Bonnie Chan urged Hong Kong and mainland Chinese stock exchanges to leverage their respective strengths while deepening cooperation to enhance a multi-tiered capital market system, YiCai Global reported Thursday.
The CEO said Hong Kong's can serve as an international gateway to complement the mainland's market foundations, according to the report.
Chan's statements followed the signing of a deal between Shanghai and Hong Kong to coordinate the development of the two financial centers, YiCai Global wrote.
