Acusensus' Shares Fall 4% As It Faces Australian Federal Court Lawsuit Relating to Ownership of Intellectual Property

Shares of Acusensus (ASX:ACE) fell 4% in recent trading on Thursday, after the firm said in a Wednesday Australian bourse filing that Redflex Traffic Systems brought proceedings in Australia's Federal Court against the firm, its managing director Alexander Jannink, and its unit, Acusensus IP, alleging ownership of intellectual property owned by the relevant Acusensus party, including patents.

The firm said that Redflex had made intellectual property rights allegations in December 2020, as disclosed in its initial public offering prospectus in December 2022.

The firm said that it plans to defend and challenge the claims in the lawsuit. In the meantime, the firm will remain focused on its growth strategies, per the filing.
