Financial stocks were advancing premarket Friday as the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) was 0.4% higher recently.
The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was up 1.2% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 1% lower.
Apollo Global Management (APO) is finalizing a deal to provide Electricite de France with as much as 5 billion UK pounds ($6.75 billion) of financing for the Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant in the UK, Bloomberg reported, citing unnamed people with knowledge of the matter. Shares of Apollo Global Management were up 0.8% pre-bell.
