Singapore Telecommunications (SGX:Z74) unit Optus Mobile reached a settlement with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, which included an AU$100 million penalty, according to a Wednesday filing with the Singapore Exchange.
The settlement comprises an enforceable undertaking to implement change following legal proceedings over unconscionable conduct and inappropriate sales practices between August 2019 and July 2023.
Optus said it issued an apology to affected customers and will take measures to address its conduct issues.
