June 17 - (The Insurer) - Liberty Mutual programs executives Bryan Marks and Colin Sullivan have left the insurer's Global Risk Solutions unit to join startup specialty (re)insurer Emerald Bay, along with Aon’s Jacqueline Gariti, sources told The Insurer.

Sullivan will become Emerald Bay's chief underwriting officer and executive vice president, while Marks will serve as senior vice president and head of distribution and business development. Gariti will be senior vice president and underwriting executive for property, the sources added.

The influx at Emerald Bay comes after Tracey Sharis was installed as CEO in March.

Liberty Mutual, Aon and Emerald Bay did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Sullivan had been with Liberty Mutual since 2017, having joined as an underwriting consultant before later serving as director of business strategy for field operations and then vice president and executive underwriting manager for programs.

Marks joined Liberty in 2021 as programs distribution director after previously working at ProSight Specialty – now known as Coaction – after earlier working at Chubb, William H Connolly and Company, AIG and Bollinger Insurance.

Gariti had been with Aon for six years, initially working as a treaty reinsurance broker before moving into a role in the MGA segment focused on carrier relations and strategic growth.

Sharis previously spent nearly 15 years with Liberty Mutual, originally joining Ironshore and most recently serving as president of North America programs within the insurer’s Global Risk Solutions division.
