Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were higher Friday morning, rising 0.8% to 2,336.86 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index, which has increased about 5% during the week.
From North Asia, the gainers were led by internet and data center services provider VNET Group (VNET) and financial services company Nomura (NMR), which advanced 6.5% and 4.1% respectively. They were followed by travel company Tuniu (TOUR) and polysilicon manufacturer Daqo New Energy (DQ), which increased 3.8% and 3.6% respectively.
The decliners from North Asia were led by fintech firm Maase (MAAS) and biotech company Zai Lab (ZLAB), which dropped 8.7% and 3.7% respectively. They were followed by education company 17 Education & Technology Group (YQ) and tech company Xunlei (XNET), which lost 2.7% and 2.3% respectively.
From South Asia, the gainers were led by financial services company ICICI Bank (IBN) and telecommunications operator PLDT (PHI), which rose 1.8% and 0.6% respectively. They were followed by financial services company HDFC Bank (HDB) and tech conglomerate Sea (SE), which were up 0.5% and 0.3% respectively.
The decliners from South Asia were led by IT firm Wipro (WIT) and pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY), which fell 2.1% and 1.9% respectively, followed by IT firm Sify Technologies (SIFY), which was down 1.4%.
