Select Medical Holdings Corporation has announced a new partnership with Ballad Health to jointly operate Select Specialty Hospital - Tri-Cities, a critical illness recovery hospital in Kingsport, Tennessee. This facility, which will be a hospital-in-hospital located within Ballad Health's Indian Path Community Hospital, is licensed as long-term acute care. Select Medical will be the majority owner and managing partner of this 46-bed joint venture hospital. The move, pending regulatory approval, will relocate the hospital from Ballad Health's Bristol Regional Medical Center. This collaboration aims to enhance access to critical illness recovery services and provide specialized, patient-centered care to the region.
