Steel Dynamics, Inc. (NASDAQ/GS: STLD) announced that all of its steel mills have received product certification from the Global Steel Climate Council (GSCC), as of July 1, 2025. This certification confirms that the steel products from these mills align with the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement's 1.5° C scenario. The company also reported that it achieved its 2025 greenhouse gas $(GHG)$ emissions intensity and renewable electrical energy objectives ahead of schedule in 2023, and set science-based GHG emissions intensity targets in 2024. The GSCC certification process involved verification of the company's 2024 GHG emissions intensity data by KERAMIDA and certification by the GSCC. The Steel Climate Standard, which underpins the certification, provides a framework for assessing steelmaking GHG emissions, including Scope 1, Scope 2, and upstream Scope 3 emissions.
