Huntington Ingalls Industries Inc. $(HII)$ has announced a significant order from Hitachi, Ltd. for over a dozen REMUS 300 small uncrewed undersea vehicles (SUUVs). This multi-year program will see the delivery of these advanced vehicles, which are based on HII's modular, open-architecture REMUS 300 platform, known for its multi-mission adaptability. The REMUS 300 is integral to the U.S. Navy's Lionfish program and is in service globally, offering critical interoperability with allied forces. This procurement enhances the longstanding relationship between the U.S. and Japan, a key ally in the Pacific region. Duane Fotheringham, president of Mission Technologies' Uncrewed Systems business group, highlighted the importance of this sale, emphasizing the high confidence international markets have in REMUS products for their mine-hunting capabilities and flexible payload options.
