A joint venture of SAIC Motor (SHA:600104), General Motors, and Liuzhou Wuling Motors said its global sales in the first half jumped 18.3% year on year to 764,544 units, Xinhua reported Wednesday.

SAIC-GM-Wuling's sales of new energy vehicles grew over 50% year on year for six straight months, totaling 413,314 units during the same period. The Hongguang MINIEV brand sold 171,064 units, surging 105.4% from the previous year, the report said.

Exports climbed 17.1% from a year earlier to 125,539 units, with NEV exports surging over 200% for three consecutive months, the report said.
