Honda Motor's (HMC) American Honda unit said Tuesday that its June sales totaled 114,486 vehicles, up 1.5% from a year earlier.

Car sales declined 8.1% to 34,092 units, while truck sales rose 6.3% to 80,394 units, American Honda said.

For Q2, American Honda reported total sales of 387,574 vehicles, up 8.4% year-over-year.

Shares of the automaker were up 1.6% in recent trading.
