GE Vernova Inc. has secured a contract from TransnetBW, a German transmission system operator, to modernize the Kühmoos grid node, a crucial electrical substation in southern Germany. This project aims to enhance frequency regulation, voltage stability, and power exchange between Germany, France, and Switzerland, which are critical for regional grid stability and cross-border power flows. The modernization will incorporate a mechanical switched capacitor with damping network to regulate voltage and minimize losses amid increased high-power flows. This effort underscores GE Vernova's commitment to supporting Europe's energy transition and its role as a leader in delivering advanced grid technologies. The order was booked in the second quarter of 2025.
