Shenandoah Telecommunications Co. (Shentel) has announced a significant expansion of its Glo Fiber high-speed fiber optic internet service in Frederick County, Maryland. The company will deploy fiber-to-the-home broadband services to over 2,600 additional homes in the towns of New Market and Walkersville. This expansion aims to provide residents with broadband speeds of up to 5 Gbps, enhancing internet choice and reliability in the area. Glo Fiber's initiative is part of a broader mission to deliver state-of-the-art fiber broadband service to smaller cities and towns. The project is expected to be completed in 2026, further extending Glo Fiber's presence in the Frederick market, where it already serves over 15,000 homes and businesses.
