China Automotive Systems (CAAS) said Wednesday its L2+ standard electro-hydraulic steering system entered mass production in China.
The power steering system is used in heavy-duty vehicles that utilizes both hydraulic power and electronic controls.
The company said the system is expected to lower operational costs by about 36,000 Chinese renminbi ($5,014.80) per vehicle a year.
China Automotive shares were up 1.2% in recent premarket activity.
