Duty Free International's (SGX:5SO) attributable profit to owners jumped over 9% for the fiscal first quarter ended May 31 to 1.4 million ringgit from $1.3 million ringgit, according to a Wednesday filing with the Singapore Exchange.
Earnings per share rose to 0.0012 ringgit from with 0.0011 ringgit in the comparable period.
Revenue declined 16% year over year to 32.2 million ringgit from 38.3 million ringgit, mainly due to the closure of the Bukit Kayu Hitam retail outlet.
Shares of the company were up over 6% at market close.
