OpenText said Wednesday that its chief financial officer, Chadwick Westlake, will step down to head up the digital financial services company, EQB.

The information management software and services company said his departure is effective Aug. 15, and that it has begun a comprehensive search for a long-term successor, with the help of an executive search firm.

Westlake was the CFO of OpenText for less than half a year, coming from EQB where he was CFO between 2020 and 2025.

The company has appointed its chief accounting officer, Cosmin Balota, to serve as CFO on an interim basis. She has over 30 years of experience and has been a part of OpenText since 2019, it said.

OpenText said that it expects revenue of $1.31 billion in the fourth quarter, ahead of analyst expectations of $1.29 billion, according to FactSet. The company will release its financial results on Aug. 7.

Westlake is set to take over the chief executive position at EQB, effective Aug. 25, succeeding Marlene Lenarduzzi who has been in the position on an interim basis since its CEO Andrew Moor passed away in late June.
