Freehill Mining (ASX:FHS) confirmed that work to restart mining at the Yerbas Buenas magnetite project in Chile is advancing, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.
The company assessed two options to restart mining operations at Yerbas Buenas, with the preferred route being to extend the current permit, allowing for the extraction of 5,000 tonnes per month under a stage one operation regulated by Chile's mining authority.
The approval for the permit extension has been submitted, the company said.
Work on an updated pit design is currently underway to submit a refreshed pit design for approval by the mining authority, per the filing.
