Iberdrola SA has successfully signed a €2.5 billion credit line agreement with 32 international banks, showcasing its robust financial standing and ability to attract significant capital. This new credit facility, which was oversubscribed by 45%, highlights the confidence of the banking sector in Iberdrola's strategy and creditworthiness. The five-year multi-currency facility, with an option to extend for two additional years, offers the most competitive rates currently available to the company. This agreement further strengthens Iberdrola's liquidity and diversifies its funding sources amid expanding investment opportunities, particularly in the United States, where its subsidiary Avangrid is also involved. The financing aligns with Iberdrola's commitment to sustainable growth, linking the cost of the facility to decarbonisation targets. BBVA and Bank of America acted as co-coordinators, with BBVA, BNP Paribas, and Crédit Agricole serving as sustainability coordinators. With this transaction, over 97% of Iberdrola's credit lines are now sustainable, reinforcing its leadership in innovative and sustainable financing.
